Based in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Riddle Fence is a non-profit magazine of contemporary literature and artwork.
We publish high-quality short fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, and art from Newfoundland and Labrador, across Canada, and around the world.
We are distributed nationally by Magazines Canada and we are available provincially at Afterwords Book Store, Eastern Edge Gallery, Fat Nanny Specialty Groceries, Jumping Bean Coffee Company, Leyton Gallery of Fine Art, Norton’s Cove Studio (Brookfield, NL), Rocket Bakery & Fresh Food, The Rooms Giftshop, The Travel Bug, and Junk.
This is a split issue: littlefishcart (Jeramy Dodds, Gabe Foreman, Leigh Kotsilidis, and Joshua Trotter) guest edited half of it and the Riddle Fence editorial team compiled the other half. littlefishcart presents an American poetry taster and artwork from Team Macho and the Riddle Fence half includes a brand-spanking new feature, The Drift, which is an editor’s response to a piece published in the current issue of the journal (James Langer, feature editor, wrote the inaugural article). The issue feature is a piece on artists dealing with chronic pain by Sara Tilley as well as:
POETRY by Shannon Webb-Campbell, Anne Simpson, & Karen Solie
ART by Danny Woodrow, Darren Whalen, Michael Ernest Sweet, Jordan Bennett, & Kathy Oke
FICTION by Seyward Goodhand & Lee. D. Thompson
